New Optimism In The Kennewick Real Estate Market

The name for Kennewick Washington is derived from a native Indian language and roughly translates into grassy place or place of paradise. The latter translation is attributed to Kennewick’s cool summers and mild winters, as well as it’s abundance of fish and wildlife in the nearby rivers.

A Place of Paradise

For real estate speculators though, many analysts are now saying that the name place of paradise may soon be an apt description for an entirely different reason. In short, while real estate prices have declined in the first months of 2009 they have done so at a lessening pace, with the final figure for the end of February being just 1.7%.

Positioned For a Fast Rebound

Not bad, considering the median home price in the city of Kennewick now stands at $196,000 and there are only 429 homes registered as being on the market for sale. The latter figure is important because while other similar market areas are seeing a slowing in declining values, they tend to be burdened by a heavy glut of unsold properties.

The Emergence of Home Bargain Hunters

As a result of these and other recent positive figures, real estate agents in the greater Kennewick area are now reporting an up tick in calls from potential clients. By far the greater majority of these are of course bargain hunters who have been waiting in the wings for the Kennewick real estate market to finally bottom out.

A Unique West Coast City

It’s the high standard of living that the city of Kennewick has to offer that separates it from so many other west coast real estate market areas. As one resident of the city recently put it. It’s a great west coast city without the west coast city problems that is drawing all of it’s new residents.
